What happens next: we call or text to set the walkthrough. After it, you get a written scope and price.

What the walkthrough covers

We walk the building with you, or with whoever knows it best. We note every area we'd clean and how it's used:

  • Entries, lobbies and hallways
  • Offices, desks and conference rooms
  • Restrooms: how many, how busy, what supplies you stock
  • Break rooms and kitchens
  • Floor types: carpet, tile, sealed concrete, wood, vinyl
  • Glass, entry doors and touch points
  • Trash and recycling
  • Access, alarm codes, badge rules and when the building is empty
  • Whether you need daytime help, like a day porter or supply restocking

What you get after

A written scope that lists every area, every task and how often: nightly, weekly or monthly. Then a price. If you'd like changes, we change the scope and send it again.

Why the walkthrough matters

A price over the phone for a building is a guess, and guesses turn into arguments a month later about what was "included." Walking it first means the scope matches your building and your crew knows what's expected on night one.

How we keep your building consistent

Cleaning usually goes wrong when the work slips after the first month. This is how we keep it from slipping.

  • A written scope

Before the first night we write down every area, every task and how often. The crew works from that list, and so do you when you check the work.

  • One person to call

You get one contact at V&V for scheduling, changes and problems. In English or Spanish.

  • A set schedule

Same days, same time window. If a holiday or a building event moves things, we work it out with you ahead of time.

  • Problems get handled

Tell your contact what was missed. We go over it with the crew, update the checklist and look at that spot on the next visit.

  • Manager site checks

Our managers do site checks and look at the work in person.

Walkthrough questions

How long does a walkthrough take?

It depends on the size of the building. A small office is quick. A school or a multi-tenant building takes longer because we walk every floor, restroom and common area.

What should I have ready?

Your cleaning schedule if you have one, the hours the building is empty, how the crew would get in, and any problem spots. If you have a scope from your current cleaner or an RFP, bring it.

Do you respond to RFPs and bids?

Yes. Check the RFP box on the form and add the due date, and we'll plan the walkthrough around your deadline.

Is there a contract?

Details vary, but we generally require a contract term, since a lot goes into setting up a building's cleaning plan. You get the written scope and price first, and we go over the terms with you before anything is signed.

Can you send a certificate of insurance before the walkthrough?

Yes. Ask for it when we call and tell us whose name should be on it. We send it by the next business day.
