Who this is for
- Private and parochial schools.
- Charter schools.
- Small campuses and training centers.
- Pre-K programs and early learning rooms inside a school.
Usually the business manager, the facilities lead or the head of school calls us. Sometimes it's because the last company stopped showing up. Sometimes the school grew and the custodian who did everything can't keep up.
Pick your level of clean
APPA, the association for education facilities, sorts school cleanliness into five levels. Level 1 is a showpiece building and Level 5 is "Unkempt Neglect," with "Ordinary Tidiness," "Casual Inattention" and "Moderate Dinginess" in between. The levels started in APPA's custodial staffing guidelines, which link how a building looks to how much cleaning time it gets.
That's a useful way to talk about budget. More visits and more hours buy a higher level. We'll tell you plainly what level your budget gets, and write the scope to hit it.
What we clean in a school
Starting list. The walkthrough sets yours.

| Cafeteria | Tables and seats wiped, floor swept and mopped, trash out | Under tables, walls near trash stations | Detailed top to bottom |
| Hallways and entries | Floors swept and mopped or vacuumed, door glass, push bars, water fountains, rails | Lockers wiped outside, baseboards | High dusting, window cleaning inside and out |
| Gym and multipurpose room | Floor swept or dust mopped, bleachers picked up, trash out | Mats and pads wiped | Deeper floor work per the floor maker's instructions |
| Offices and staff rooms | Clear desks, trash, floors, break room counters and sink | Microwave, cabinet fronts, ledges | Fridge wiped out after staff clears it |
Kitchen food prep areas usually belong to your food service staff, under their own rules. We clean the dining room.
Safety habits around kids
- We clean after dismissal and after-school programs, not during class.
- Products stay on our cart and leave with us. CDC's early care guidance says to store and use products out of children's reach and keep rooms ventilated.
- Wet floor signs go up whenever we mop, and we finish main hallways before anyone's back in the building.
- Pre-K and younger rooms get restrooms, sinks and changing tables disinfected on the schedule your program sets.
How we start
- Campus walkthrough. We see every building and room type, including the gym, cafeteria and portables. We ask about after-school programs, weekend events and any rooms that are off-limits.
- Written scope. Daily, weekly and break tasks, products, who supplies paper goods and soap, and how we lock up each building.
- Schedule. School-year nights, Saturday work if needed, and the break deep cleans on the calendar early.
- Start, with one number to call. We start on the agreed day. After that, our managers do site checks, and you have one number to call or text when something needs fixing.
What changes the cost
- Square footage and number of buildings.
- Restroom and fixture count.
- Number of classrooms and special rooms like labs and art rooms.
- Floor types, especially gym floors.
- Student count and after-school use.
- Break deep cleans and how much each one covers.
We don't post prices. You get a written quote after the walkthrough. Texas public schools are generally exempt from sales tax on cleaning, and private schools with a Texas exemption can give us an exemption certificate.
Why schools call V&V
Family-run, cleaning around DFW since 2009. We carry general liability and workers' comp, and we can send a certificate of insurance for your board or your landlord. We speak English and Spanish, which helps with families and staff on campus.
We work in Fort Worth, Arlington, Dallas, Mansfield, Burleson, Keller, Midlothian and the rest of our service area.
How we keep your building consistent
Cleaning usually goes wrong when the work slips after the first month. This is how we keep it from slipping.
- A written scope
Before the first night we write down every area, every task and how often. The crew works from that list, and so do you when you check the work.
- One person to call
You get one contact at V&V for scheduling, changes and problems. In English or Spanish.
- A set schedule
Same days, same time window. If a holiday or a building event moves things, we work it out with you ahead of time.
- Problems get handled
Tell your contact what was missed. We go over it with the crew, update the checklist and look at that spot on the next visit.
- Manager site checks
Our managers do site checks and look at the work in person.
How it works
- 01Tell us about the building
Call, text or send the form. We set up a free walkthrough and look at every room, floor and restroom.
- 02Get a written scope
Every area, every task, how often and the price, in writing before anyone starts.
- 03We clean
Our crew brings its own supplies and equipment and works through your checklist. You supply the paper goods and trash liners, and we refill them.
- 04You tell us what to change
Call or text your contact at V&V and we update the checklist for the next visit.
If something on the agreed scope gets missed, tell us within 24 hours and we'll fix it.

School Cleaning questions
When do you clean during the school year?
After dismissal and after-school programs end, Monday through Friday, with Saturday available for bigger tasks. We set the start time around your last activity so we're not mopping a hallway full of kids.
Can you do a deep clean over summer break?
Yes. Breaks are the time for jobs that can't happen at night, like carpet cleaning, washing windows inside and out and detailing every classroom top to bottom. Book it early, because a lot of schools want the same weeks.
Are public schools charged sales tax on cleaning?
Generally no. The Texas Comptroller says public schools, colleges and universities have a dual exemption, as educational organizations and as government entities. Private schools may qualify if they hold a Texas exemption.
What level of clean should we expect?
That's a choice you make with your budget. APPA, the facilities association for education, describes five appearance levels. You pick the level your budget supports, and we write the scope to match.
Do you clean pre-K and daycare rooms?
Yes. Those rooms follow CDC's early care guidance more closely, with changing tables and restrooms disinfected on schedule and products stored out of children's reach.
